A BRAND new shop security radio system has been launched at the Kirkcaldy Retail Park.

It is the second phase of an innovative scheme designed to reduce crime and increase the safety of staff and shoppers.

Constable Mark Anderson, Community Safety Officer for Kirkcaldy, said: “I am delighted with the positive reaction we have received from the stores and the speed with which we have progressed this initiative.

“This scheme was only set up in February oand we have put up signs which promote the involvement of all of the shops.

“The introduction of this new radio system which will be used by us, the shops and the security staff, will prove to be an invaluable tool allowing us all to communicate with each other immediately.

“This will assist in preventing crimes and increase personal safety for all.”
