THE annual appeal for would-be whistlers has been launched.
Glenrothes people who fancy trying theirhands at being the man, or woman in the middle are being invited to attend classes.
They are bein gheld at Kirkcaldy High School for eight weeks starting from Monday, 13 February, with the kick-off at 6.15pm.
The course costs £20, although discounts apply for students and unemployed people, amongst others.
Applicants must be at least 16 years-old as of 31 March.
The course gives entrants the chance to begin their careers at the game’s grass roots, but offers a career path that could lead to them officiating at senior football matches.
Fife Referees President, George MacDonald, said: “WE have in place the means to identify and develop talent much earlier and we are always looking for more referees to join us.
“Referees with ability and commitment can expect to progress very quickly, much more so than in previous years.
“Whilst we have had a lot of success with young referees, we are also not slow to progress any referee who shows willing, regardless of age.
