Review: Bad Manners turn up the heat at The Windsor

It was on a cold and wet Saturday night that Bad Manners arrived to whip the Windsor Hotel up into a frenzy.

In stark contrast to the temperature outside, the venue was heating up as fans crammed inside eager to see the ska masters in action once again.

This isn’t the first time that Bad Manners have played Kirkcaldy, and you can always a guarantee a good night out when they are in town.

There to help warm up the crowd were DJ Junior Lazarou, The Cundeez with support from Max Splodge, who all did a stellar job in getting everyone ready for the main event.

But it was Bad Manners that they came to see, and from the second that they stepped out on stage, the crowd weren’t disappointed.

From the opening notes of This is Ska, to Lorraine and Skaville UK, the audience never stopped moving as they worked up a sweat – no wonder the band were treated to a beer shower!

For over an hour they fired through their hits at an alarming rate, while also peppering their set with covers including Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and Woolly Bully. They departed the stage to chants for more – this crowd wasn’t ready to go home just yet; and neither was the band as they came back on to play Lip Up Fatty and Can Can, and to issue the promise that they would be back next year for their 40th anniversary.

We’re going to hold you to that, lads...
