‘Big Apple Circus’ – New York’s original one ring circus – brings its experience to St Andrews this weekend when the ‘Metamorphosis’ show is beamed live by satellite from the city that never sleeps to the town’s New Picture House, bringing with it all the fun of the fair.

Enjoy clowns, jugglers, acrobats – all the traditional features of a good, old-fashioned circus, in the comfort of the cinema. Circus stars from around the world, including the US, Russia, France and Mongolia will appear during the show.

Big Apple Circus is a not for profit arts organisation founded in 1977.

Since then it has produced 36 original, themed shows over 350 performanced each season.

There’s a core company presenting new acts each year and joined by top rank international circus stars.

The shows are family focussed, with around three-quarters of the audience in the three to 15-years age group.

This is a first for NPH, although the cinema has had success with live stage performances from all over the world - two ballets from the Bolshoi are scheduled before the end of the year,

The two-hour long circus is at midday on November 15.
