FIFE’s new rural recycling service is being rolled out to communities this week.
Householders in the countryside will now have access to the three bin recycling services to recycle cans, plastic, paper and cardboard.
These changes follow a review of the waste collection service to rural properties where assessments were made of the access to properties for suitable turning space and access road width and the conditions of the road to the properties.
The findings will see the household bins being moved to a road end collection point.
Councillor Pat Callaghan, executive member for transportation and environment admitted there has been concern from residents but said: “This new rural collection system will bring a recycling service to householders living in the countryside, bringing them into line with the rest of Fife.”
