Shoppers at a Leven supermarket were joined by three friends of the four-legged variety last week on a special visit.

Stuart Donaldson and Danny Rooney from Guide Dogs for the Blind - a charity supported by Sainsbury’s Leven - dropped into the store on Riverside Drive with some furry companions.

And there was a very special guest among them - Bawbee the puppy, named by the shoppers after the famous Brig and sponsored thanks to their generous donations.

Pictured above (right) with fellow guide dogs in training Yoshi and Ernie, Bawbee is still only five months old, but is already undertaking her training and will be fully trained by 2015 and ready to be paired with a visually impaired person.

Shoppers at the local supermarket raised an incredible £5000, and Danny thanked them for their support. “We are very grateful for their continued support as their kind donations are enabling our charity to assist blind and partially sighted people in Scotland to lead an independent life,” he said.

For updates on Bawbee’s progress, see the notice board at the front door of Sainsbury’s Leven store.
