LOCAL estate agent Sally Newman-Carter has conquered three of the UK’s highest peaks in aid of Help for Heroes.
Sally, a property valuer with Rollo Davidson McFarlane, took on the Three Peaks challenge with her old schoolfriend Mimi Pearce, stepping in with only a week’s notice after Mimi’s original walking partner had to pull out because of injury.
The Three Peaks challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis (4409 feet); Scafell Pike (3209 feet), and Snowdon (3560 feet).
In 24 hours, the pair walked a total of 27 miles and drove for over nine hours.
Sally said: “I am exhausted but proud to have finished it and we hope to raise a lot of money for Help for Heroes.
“Both of our fathers were soldiers and Mimi and I wished to support Help for Heroes with all the fantastic work they do helping the wounded from Afghanistan and Iraq.”
