A student from Kennoway is delighted after he was awarded an engineering scholarship from Leven-based drinks manufacturer Diageo.
Fife College students Michael Fraser (18) and 22-year-old Stephen MacDonald, who is from Edinburgh, were presented with their £1000 scholarships by Richard Bedford, packaging director, on behalf of Diageo, after receiving a tour of the Banbeath bottling plant, accompanied by college staff.
Richard said: “We are delighted to support the Adam Smith Foundation again this year.
“As a business we are committed to the development of talented individuals and both Michael and Stephen have shown great dedication and commitment to their studies.”
Michael commented: “I felt very privileged and proud to be recognised by Diageo and found the tour of their facilities fascinating.
“I plan to use the award to buy a new laptop, learning materials and resources such as books, transport and a drawing board.
“Long term I hope to further my studies to degree level and gain an apprenticeship – winning this scholarship has given me a great boost and will help me to achieve my goals.”
