Striker Kyle Connell, 20, has arrived on a loan deal from Kilmarnock.

The arrangement runs until January 2023, with the player available to play tomorrow (Saturday) at Cove Rangers if selected.

Connell joins defenders Ryan Nolan and Aberdeen loanee Kieran Ngwenya, during a busy period of transfer activity for the Kirkcaldy club – with manager Ian Murray being asked frequently in recent days if any new signings were imminent at Stark’s Park.

Connell started his football journey in the youth teams of Motherwell, Blackburn Rovers and Kilmarnock before signing his first professional deal with Killie at the start of the 2020-21 season.

A loan spell at Airdrieonians, working with current Rovers management duo Ian Murray and Scott Agnew later that season, was a success for Connell as he netted six goals for the Diamonds.

The following season saw Kyle loaned to East Fife and in a disappointing season for the club, he led the line, scoring eight goals for the Methil men in their relegation season.

Boss Murray was delighted to secure the player's services and told the club website raithrovers.net: "Kyle is a good young striker who has done well at Airdrie and East Fife in recent seasons.

“I know him well and have always kept an eye on him. He's physical, and is also hungry to succeed.

“I like him as a player and also as a person – we know each other well.

Kyle is an out-and-out striker who will add firepower to our attack.

"I look forward to working with him again and I know he is excited to be here.

“I'd like to thank Kilmarnock FC for their co-operation with this deal."
