Around 100 red-clad revellers will shortly be lining up in the East Neuk for an annual charity festive fun run.

East Neuk o’Fife Round Table is organising its popular event – where all the entrants are dressed as Santa – at Elie beach at 11am on Sunday, December 13.

This year, the Tablers are raising money for the East Neuk First Responders, the medical team which provides emergency assistance for people who have survived cardiac arrest, and helps with treatment until ambulance crews arrive.

The race is around 1.5 miles long and the runners, who mus t be aged 10 or over, can take it easy and enjoy being part of a sea of Santas, or run to win and try for the Golden Mince Pie!

The £10 entry fee includes the Santa suit and refreshments. Entrants have to register in advance via facebook.com/eastneukbolt

“This is the third time we’ve held the race,” said Iain Rooney of the Round Table.

“Our numbers are looking strong already and we are confident we will have a record-breaking number of Santas on the beach!

“We’re keen to get people registered as soon as possible so we can ensure we have enough Santa suits for everyone, and generally get everything sorted in
advance.”

On race day, there’s a 10.15am registration/pick-up of the Santa suits, with a presentation and refreshments in Elie Pavilion after the run.
