A KIRKCALDY teenager organised and completed a sponsored silence to raise money for a worthy cause.
Conor Dalrymple (15) did the sponsored silence at his school, Viewforth High, and collected £139 for Help for Heroes.
Conor attends a local cadet group in the town and it was through the cadets he decided to do the sponsored event and raise funds for the charity which was formed to help those who have been wounded in Britain’s current conflicts. Lynn Porter, headteacher at Viewforth High, said: “We were delighted that Conor took on fundraising for such a good cause. He had the support of staff and pupils throughout the school. He wore a placard around his neck to make sure people understood why he was silent for a day. I know he is really pleased about the amount he has managed to raise and the fact he rose to the challenge he set himself. We are very proud of him. His family have been very supportive and they are delighted by what he has achieved.”
