Singing star Jade reaches high notes in aid of charity

Levenmouth’s own singing star, Jade Richards, gave a musical boost to a weekend of charity fundraising activity at a Leven High Street store.

The 24-year-old from Buckhaven, who appeared on three series of ‘The X Factor’ from 2011-13, performed a short acoustic set on Saturday at Superdrug to help raise money for the chain’s official charity partner, Marie Curie.

Jade – who also works at the Superdrug shop – sang ‘I Wanna Be Like You’ from ‘Jungle Book’, the Beyonce song ‘Halo’, Jessie J’s ‘Price Tag’ and ‘Rolling In The Deep’ by Adele. She was accompanied on guitar by student Dylan Palfrey (19), who also works part-time at the branch.

Customers were encouraged to pop their change into collection buckets or buy some special edition products.

Jade told the Mail she still enjoyed performing very much and was still busy with charity gigs – she was glad to support Marie Curie, she said, as the cancer care charity dealt with something which affected everybody.

She was excited to see how Only The Young fared in ‘The X Factor’ this year, as she was friendly with some of the members from previous boot camp days.
