A special memorial tree is making an appearance once again at a Denbeath funeral home this Christmas.

Co-operative Funeralcare in Wellesley Road is providing the tree as part of its annual gesture to help local people remember their loved ones during the festive season, which can often be an extremely painful time for the bereaved.

Families and friends are being invited to visit the funeral home and decorate the tree with cards in memory of those close to them who have died.

If they wish, families may also leave a small donation to charity.

Davina Douglas, funeral arranger at the Denbeath branch, explained: “This is something we continue to offer annually, providing a memorial tree in honour of those who have died, as it has always proved to be a great help for relatives and friends.

“We know Christmas and New Year, in particular, is a time when people look back and remember those they’ve lost and we hope our memorial Christmas tree will again benefit the families concerned at this difficult time,” she added.

The Denbeath funeral home is open from 9.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. and people will be able to leave memorial cards on the tree from now right up until Christmas Eve.
