LEVEN people have donated almost 800 pairs of old or unwanted glasses to people in Third World countries.
Specsavers in Leven High Street was proud to hand over the huge haul, collected during 2012, to its charity partner Vision Aid Overseas.
The charity will recycle the old pairs of specs to support those struggling with poor sight in poverty-stricken countries.
Adrian McCann, store director at Leven, said: ‘I am really overwhelmed by the response.
“In some of the areas where VAO operates there is only one optometrist for every three million people, which shows how vital the charity’s work is.”
