SPRINGFIELD Primary School’s summer fayre raised a record £1600 – thanks to the fantastic efforts of staff, pupils, parent council and the community.

The fayre at the Cupar school was officially opened by Mike Reid BME, driver of the St Andrews open top tour bus, who arrived on the Stagecoach Revolution Games Bus.

A big turn-out of pupils, parents, relatives and friends came to support the school and, despite a few showers, lots of fun was had by all.

One of the highlights was headteacher Donald Gillespie being locked in the stocks to let the children have a turn at aiming ‘cream pies’ at him.

The Parent Council would like to thank local businesses, teachers and individuals who donated fabulous prizes, baking, plants, toys, time and energy to helping raise the £1600 which will go towards subsidising school trips and activities.
