SCHOOL’S out for two long-serving teachers at a Leven primary.

The start of the summer holidays marked the end of over half a century of service together at St Agatha’s by head teacher Jane Miezitis and principal colleague Margaret Parker.

Both said they were taking away delightful memories of their time at Park Drive.

Mrs Meizitis spent the last year as head, preceded by 14 years as depute head in her 27-year career at the school.

Prior to that, she worked in Glasgow and Inverness and had supply jobs around Fife.

She said: “St Agatha’s is a fantastic school. It has a wonderful ethos and the children are so polite, well-mannered and hard-working.

“The support of the parents and the community too is second to none.”

Mrs Parker was a supply teacher in Edinburgh and worked at St Marie’s in Kirkcaldy before coming to Leven 25 years ago.

“My memories are of a very caring staff who genuinely care about welfare, from the janitors and dinner ladies to the management,” she said.

Pupils were involved in many good, active and practical things in school, she added.
