St Andrews chef Jamie Scott has another reason to raise a glass in celebration.

Hard on the heels of winning BBC Masterchef:The Professionals, he was chosen to front a new campaign on Tuesday to promote Scotch Beef, which has been named as Scotland’s favourite food.

Jamie, sous chef at Rocca Restaurant, joined staff at The Macallan distillery in Speyside to launch the campaign.

The nine-week Quality Meat Scotland initiative has a strapline of “There’s beef, there’s Scottish beef, then there’s Scotch Beef”.

Jamie, who selected Scotch Beef for his main course dish in the final of Masterchef, donned his chef whites to serve up a delicious Scotch Beef dish at The Macallan Distillery.

He said: “It is such a versatile product and although it is simple to cook, it is also very impressive which is the main reason I chose to include it in my final dish on Masterchef.”
