Colleagues from Pets at Home and Companion Care Vets are gearing up to cycle 47 miles in aid of animal chairities next month.
The team will be taking part in the Fresh n Low Pedal for Scotland cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh on September 8.
They are hoping the sponsored event will help them raise £1500 for the Support Adoption for Pets and Hounds for Heroes charities.
Alan Hynd, assistant manager at Kirkcaldy’s Pets at Home store, said: “These are fantastic causes that are close to all our hearts in store and truly make a a difference for the pets in our community.
“The colleagues were recently able to award Greyhound Rescue Fife and Cats Protection League Fife nearly £600 each with funds raised in store during our Easter fundraising.
“We all decided we wanted to pedal that extra mile this time and set ourselves a £1500 target to help our two nominated pet charities.”
Alan said that a few staff members had been able to take advantage of the company’s cycle to work scheme in buying new bikes in the run up to the fundraising event.
Headded: “Training has been going well, we have been going to the gym and trying to get as much cycling in as we possibly can before the event.
“Pets at Home and Companion Care would love to thank all our customers for their continued support, having already raised a third of our target through events in store.”
