A SERIES of short films dealing with the stigma of mental health are to be screened at Leven’s Regent Cinema.

The films, titled the Harbour Steps series, have been created by community broadcaster Channel Fife TV with funding coming from the ‘See Me’ local grants fund.

They were created through a series of workshops, where people with direct or indirect experience of mental ill health talked about their personal experiences before those stories were turned into four screenplays and filmed.

Two of the films, ‘Trapped’ and ‘Look at Me’, are set in Leven and Anstruther.

‘Trapped’ tells the story of Carol, who suffers from agoraphobia and reflects on her life as a young woman in Leven in the 1960s.

‘Look At Me’ features the story of Linda who is reflecting on her mother’s mental illness and her own issues.

The films will premiere on Saturday, September 29 at 11am.
