A Glenrothes boxer has retained his Scottish title.

Stuart Green defeated Gary ‘Blitz’ McArthur to successfully defend the light-welterweight championship.

The town fighter won 99-92 on points against an opponent who had lost only once before in the 10-round match which was held in Glasgow.

Coach Steven McGuire senior said: “We are now looking at the possibility of a British title eliminator some time this year.”

The event also saw a win for fellow club fighter, Andrew Pudov, who is originally from Latvia and who defeated Paul McElhaney at super-featherweight.
