A tremendous effort by local people for a deeply personal cause has left the organisers of a charity event feeling in the pink.
The Levenmouth community displayed marvellous support for Powells Pink Saturday, an event organised in aid of Breast Cancer Now by well-known local hairdresser Lorraine Powell.
The mother of two wanted to support the cause after a family member was diagnosed with the condition – so an evening of music, fun and entertainment was staged recently at Pratis Farm, near Leven.
Lorraine, who has run the Lorraine at Haircare salon in Kennoway’s Bishops Court for over 35 years – and has been involved regularly in fundraising – was astonished by the kindness and support shown by raffle prize donors, businesses, helpers and supporters alike.
The night proved a fitting tribute to the power of local people pulling together, with almost £5500 being collected.
Many of the guests have posted Facebook images and messages congratulating everyone on such a memorable night.

The ticket price included a pink drink for revellers when they arrived, while attractions featured a raffle stall, tombola, candy bar, a Treausre Island game, a football game, a photo booth, a disco, and more, with many providing their stalls and services free of charge.
Well over 200 people attended, with an abundance of locals, as well as others from Monifieth, Aberdeen, and even Wales.
“Everyone was there to show their support. It was amazing,” said Lorraine.
Superb raffle prizes included a week’s holiday in Turkey (won by Myra Duncan) a glamping weekend, an iPad, a £100 makeover, and more.
“Every prize was brilliant – it was just amazing,” said Lorraine.
She added virtually everyone in Kennoway had gone over and above expectations in terms of backing, and she felt quite overwhelmed.
“They have shown me great support,” she said.
