TANSHALL Primary has been earmarked for closure as part of a major shake up of the town’s schools.
Anxious parents learned that their children will be moved to Caskieberran and Southwood Primary Shools when proposals were made public yesterday (Tuesday).
Fife Council also plans to monitor the occupancy, condition and accessibility of Warout Primary School - and it has not ruled out closure.
The report will also continue to monitor the surplus provision of places in the town’s secondary schools with the longer term view that Glenrothes would be best suited with two senior schools rather than three.
With the construction of the new Auchmuty High nearing completion it’s proposed that the local authority investigate ways of funding the building of a new school which suggests Glenwood and Glenrothes would merge.
Fife Council’s executive committee will meet on Tuesday to agree proposals before a formal public consultation takes place.
