People living in St Andrews, across north east Fife and the East Neuk, are being invited to mark St Andrew’s Day with a text donation to TCCL.
The charity has already bought a property in the town and intends to convert into a holiday home for children with cancer and their families.
But between now and Christmas TCCL-Lodge (Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia) needs your help.
Several local businesses in the area have already pledged their support but now everyone from students to school children and grannies to guesthouse owners are being asked to give up a treat and donate just £2 to make a dream come true.
Dundee United footballer Jordan Moore, who is in recovery from skin cancer and is now an ambassador for TCCL, is backing the campaign.
This week he urged people across north east Fife to give up a treat and donate to TCCL Lodge.
Jordan said: “This is a great campaign and the lodge will make a massive difference to families whose children are going through treatment or are in recovery from cancer.
“I hope everyone reading this will make a donation; if everyone does we can make sure we can provide this amazing facility for families across the local area.”
TCCL chairperson Rosalie Wilkie said: “We’re hoping that the whole community gets behind the text campaign. We’re intending to share photos of our committee on social media and lookforward to seeing the people of Fife sharing their pictures too.
“We’re asking everyone to give up a treat, perhaps a take away coffee or a cake, on St Andrew’s Day or any day in the run up to Christmas and instead text TCCL01£2 to 70070 to help us reach our fundraising goal.”
