Meet the new Royal Party for the 2014 Kinghorn Children’s Gala.
The youngsters were recently selected through a random draw which was made at a Kinghorn Primary School assembly by last year’s Royal Party.
The King and Queen were selected from those nominated by P7 pupils, while the P3 pupils put forward their nominations for the Royal attendants.
This year’s Royal Party are: Caitlin Dickman, Gala Queen; Daniel Hirst, King; Emma Clunie and Sean Marshall, attendants.
The theme for this year’s Kinghorn Gala week will be Cartoons. It was selected earlier in the school year by pupils at Kinghorn Primary, and will be the subject of the fancy dress parade around the town at the end of the week.
Kinghorn Gala Week will run from Sunday, June 1 to Saturday, June 7, and the crowning of the King and Queen will take place on June 1 and is likely to be part of the service at Kinghorn Parish Church. The Gala Parade will be held on June 7, with a full programme of events inbetween, including sports, arts and crafts and events involving the Ecology Centre.
Andy Menzies, chairman of the Kinghorn Gala Committee, said: “We are all greatly looking forward to the Kinghorn children and community having great fun at this year’s events, which are still being finalised. The Gala is always keen to hear from people in Kinghorn who wish to support the event either by joining the committee or by assisting at events during Gala week and throughout the year.”
