Over 370,000 visits have been made to the Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre since its doors opened in July last year – proving that more people are getting more active more of the time.
With an average of 12,000 customers per week, that’s 1700 per day, the centre in Glenrothes is continuing to attract locals to enjoy a wide variety of leisure opportunities.
The three pools have seen 149,177 attendances, the state-of-the-art gym has clocked up 83,354 visits and outdoor facilities such as football pitches, athletics track and tennis courts have attracted 44, 286 appearances by sporting enthusiasts.
Ed Watson, chief executive of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust which runs the centre on behalf of Fife Council, said: “ One of the Trust’s main objectives is to make leisure opportunities more accessible and affordable for all – the attendance figures prove that we are delivering on that commitment.
“I am delighted with the success of the centre and would thank staff for their hard work and commitment in enhancing customer experience.”
