Three established support agencies in Fife have decided to merge with the social enterprise sector and create a brand new organisation.
The new organisation, which has a working title of Fife Third Sector Support, aims to enhance services to volunteers and the voluntary sector and will provide a single access point.
The three existing agencies – CVS Fife, Volunteer Centre Fife and VONEF (Voluntary Organisations North East Fife) – believe the amalgamation will help them make the best use of their resources and experience.
Charities, community groups, social enterprises and volunteers play a vital role in Kirkcaldy delivering a range of key services - from housing, care for the elderly to substance misuse - and they work with some of the most vulnerable citizens.
Frances McAulay, chairman of Fife Third Sector Support said: “This is an exciting opportunity for us to build in strength and increase effectiveness through engagement and collaboration.
‘‘This new organisation will contribute towards the development of a Fife that is vibrant, dynamic and where all residents have opportunities to develop their potential.”
