OUR new Face of Fife, Toni Izatt performed her first official duty last week when she handed over £500 to our Maggie’s Centre.
The money came from half of the ticket sales to the dazzling competition run recently by the Fife Free Press in conjunction with Kitty’s and Kandy nightclub, Migele Experience, Catch Photography, the Secret Wardrobe and Eloise, as well as the funds raised at a raffle on the day.
Despite suffering from a throat infection, Toni rose to the occasion and was delighted to be given a tour of the cancer caring centre at the Victoria Hospital before having her photograph taken (something she is quickly getting used to) presenting the cash to Tumong Edwards, community fundraiser for Maggie’s Fife and Forth Valley, and James Forsyth, fundraising co-ordinator for Maggie’s Fife.
Toni (18), from Methil, said: “It was great to meet the staff and volunteers at Maggie’s and, as the new Face of Fife, I am delighted to be able to hand over the money raised on the day.
“Maggie’s does lots of wonderful work in the local community and I know this will be put to good use in the running of the centre.”
