The very best in local music, entertainment and community spirit is being generously poured out in Levenmouth this Sunday.
Tea in the Park aims to offer a rich blend of live sounds and assorted attractions, running from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in a cluster of marquees at Sandwell Park in Buckhaven.
It’s organised by Buckhaven Events Network (BEN), which hopes it will become a regular event and the modern-day attractions will signal a revival of some old-style community festivities, such as the Buckhaven Fisher Lad and Lass.
BEN director Audrey Egan said: “We are back again to inject some much-needed fun into the community.
“This is YOUR day, so please take part in any way you can.’’
The main marquee will host vintage-style ‘high tea’ catering facilities, from which you’ll have the opportunity to dine ‘al fresco’ on vintage picnic cloths.
The music marquee houses top local bands, including The Never Evers, Colin Malcolm and The Project, Jade (Richards) and Keir (Smith), along with The Cundeez, Stacy Archibald and Burn The Maps.
“We’ll be having some wacky races for kids and adults alike, and a toss the ‘caber’ for all the strapping males out there – be sure to enter,” said Audrey.
She hoped the event would be a big success, which would allow the organisers to garner support on an annual basis and get the traditional Fisher Lad and Lass back on the local business-decorated trucks for the street processions.”
