The Markinch community turned out on Sunday afternoon to support a charity fashion event.

The fundraiser at Drummond’s Hotel was organised by Maggie MacDonald, owner of Style Conscience, in conjunction with image consultants Integro.

I can’t thank people enough for their support

And through the event, which included a fashion show, raffle and some creations from local women’s businesses, over £500 was raised for Scottish Huntington’s Association.

Maggie told the Gazette that each year since she opened Style Conscience, she has had a different chosen charity that she’s been hosting fundraising events for.

She said: “The reason I’m fundraising for Scottish Huntington’s Association is my friend Wilma McCallum’s husband Brian is living with Huntington’s Disease.

“As well as fundraising we are trying to raise awareness of the charity.

“The event was very successful. I’m tickled pink with what we’ve raised.

“I can’t thank people enough for their support.”

Brian McCallum’s 13-year-old son, Aidan, also raised over £200 at the event for Youth Scottish Huntington’s Association by selling his artwork.
