Another 17,600 homes and businesses in Fife will have access to faster broadband next Spring.
Cupar, central Glenrothes and Leven are the latest communities to benefit from the roll-out of BT’s pioneering next generation broadband service delivered over copper lines. The upgraded exchanges serve around 6000, 7000 and 4600 homes respectively.
It is already available in places including Dunfermline, Dysart, South Glenrothes, Inverkeithing, Kirkcaldy and St Andrews. Glenrothes’ North exchange area is also earmarked for upgrades in the coming months. The new service is available on an open, wholesale basis to all companies providing broadband.
Brendan Dick, BT Scotland director, said: “This is an important step forward for these three Fife towns. Faster broadband can help businesses become more competitive.”
