TWO of the Kingdom’s best-selling authors return to Kirkcaldy next month to promote their new work.
Ian Rankin and Val McDermid will both be in town over the coming weeks to host events to promote their latest novels hot off the press.
The creator of Rebus, Ian Rankin will be at Waterstones in Kirkcaldy on the evening of Thursday, November 8 - the day his latest work is released.
Ian will be signing copies of his new book, ‘Standing in Another Man’s Grave’ at the High Street store from 7.00 p.m in this special homecoming event to mark the book’s publication.
This novel is the latest in the Malcolm Fox series, but earlier this year the author, who hails from Cardenden, revealed Rebus will make a special appearance.
The stubborn detective finds himself in trouble with Fox, of Edinburgh’s internal affairs unit.
Those attending the signing will receive an exclusive ‘Rankin and Rebus comes home’ artwork card.
But the crime thriller literary events in the Lang Toun do not end there.
Later in November, crime novel fans will have the chance to spend an evening with Kirkcaldy-born best-selling author Val McDermid in St Bryce Kirk.
The crime writer returns to her home town on Wednesday, November 28 to talk about her latest book, ‘The Vanishing Point’, which was released last month.
It’s Val’s 26th novel and tells the tale of every parent’s worst nightmare.
A five-year-old boy is abducted from under the nose of his mother at an airport.
Val will be talking about, and reading from, her book at this event, which given her legion of fans is bound to be popular.
Tickets for Val McDermid’s appearance at St Bryce Kirk are available from www.onfife.com, priced £4.50.
Those planning to attend the Ian Rankin signing at Waterstones are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
