It was three years ago today that then-Labour MP Jim Murphy was egged in Kirkcaldy during the run-up to the Scottish Independence Referendum.

As Mr Murphy toured the country armed with an Irn-Bru crate and a loudspeaker to “spark debate”, he got more than he bargained for when he hit the Lang Toun’s High Street. Below is the story as it unfolded on the day, along with Video of the incident.
