Rail passengers travelling through and from Kinghorn station now have the chance to take in some of Fife’s stunning scenery.

ScotRail has installed viewing windows on platform one at the station allowing travellers to cast an eye over the Forth towards Edinburgh and other notable sights on the landscape, such as the Bass Rock and North Berwick Law.

It’s yet another impressive achievement for the station which won gold after coming first in Keep Scotland Beautiful’s ‘Tidy Station Standards’ programme last year, and was this year nominated for a Community Rail Award.

A ScotRail spokesman said: “We are happy to have been able to provide these viewing windows, which offer picturesque views across the Firth of Forth from the platform at Kinghorn.

“They further add to the appeal of the town’s award-winning station - and we are sure they will prove to be popular with customers.”
