A previous winner of our ‘Voice of Fife’ competition is set to perform at a special fundraising event in Burntisland next Sunday.

Dionne Hickey, who scooped the top prize in the Fife Free Press contest in 2011, is taking to the stage along with other acts at the gig at the Kingswood Hotel on May 11 between 2.00 and 6.00 p.m. to raise money for the Brain Tumour Society.

The 19-year-old has come a long way since winning our ‘Voice of Fife’ competition.

As well as having established herself as a dynamic vocalist on the professional circuit, she has also been busy preparing the release of her debut single ‘Free Falling’ - a song she wrote herself.

And later this year she is heading for Thailand to perform in the Gay Pride concert on World Aids Day.

But before that Dionne’s fans can look forward to her starring in a BBC documentary about club and cabaret singers set for broadcast in the summer and, of course, the recorded fruits of her burgeoning songwriting talent.

However if you want the chance to see her perform locally there will be a chance next weekend when she sings at the Kingswood Hotel.

Other performers at the event will include: Jackie Clarke, singer; Robbie Carran, comedian and vocalist; Sol Christie, top club performer; Robert T Leonard, Meatloaf tribute act; Lorraine Summers, comedienne; Mark Mulgrew who will provide a taste of Tom Jones’ music; Susan Mirrey, vocalist; Kirk James, Scottish singer; Frank Holden, Sinatra tribute act; Tom Scott, local Neil Diamond/Johnny Cash tribute act; and Tony Andrews.

Tickets, priced £10, are available from the Kingswood Hotel, Priory Park Gym in Kirkcaldy and Kingdom Homes.

Stovies will be provided on the night by the Kingswood Hotel and there will also be a fundraising raffle with a number of prizes up for grabs,

Transport to and from the event has also been kindly offered from TAXItravel for only £5 per person. Pick ups from Kirkcaldy or Kinghorn. For pick up times and to book a seat contact (01592) 591010.

All proceeds will go to the Brain Tumour Society, raising awareness as well as much needed funds. All acts have donated their time.
