Volunteer workers earn their counselling caps

VOLUNTARY sector workers from across the Kingdom have received recognition at a graduation ceremony attended by the Rt Hon Sir Menzies Campbell MP.

The group of students, many of whom work with DAPL, were awarded training diplomas in therapeutic counselling by the Charis Foundation at the event in Parliament Hall, University of St Andrews.

Almost all the students worked in full-time employment throughout the four-year course.

Pictured are Steve Coote from Buckhaven and Chris Davidson from Glenrothes, who both work with DAPL. Clare Fox from Strathmiglo works part-time with Barnardos and now part-time with DAPL.

Also, Mairi McAllister and Josie McGilly who both work with FRASAC in Kirkcaldy. The group also includes Mandy Morrison from Methil and Farrah Nazir from Buckhaven, who both work for DAPL (Drug and Alcohol Project Ltd).

Also Jackie Read from Dunfermline, who volunteers with Talk Matters.
