OUR Maggie’s centre’s weekly walking group allows those affected by a cancer diagnosis to benefit from regular gentle exercise.
The group, which has been going several months, aims to help people build up their strength by walking alongside others, including experienced leaders, and have fun at the same time.
Four members of the group have enjoyed it so much that they have registered for the Twilight Walk in Glenrothes on June 1 to support Maggie’s.
Nancy Davies, group leader and centre volunteer, said: “I walk with the ramblers regularly so when Maggie’s started a walking group I decided to be involved. Exercise is important for anyone going through treatment.
“Our walking group can help build up strength and keeps you active. We are looking forward to the Twilight Walk to support the centre and would encourage others to register.”
James Forsyth, fundraising organiser, said: “We’re really pleased that some of our walkers have decided to sign up for the Twilight Walk. I’ve seen them every week enjoying our walking group so it’s great that the’ve decided to walk 10 miles to support Maggie’s.”
