The Leven stepmum of tragic teenager Hannah Smith has declined to comment on a coroner’s ruling over the 14-year-old’s death last year.
Deborah Smith said the family needed “a bit of space to grieve” now that last week’s hearing was over.
South Leicestershire coroner Catherine Smith recorded a verdict of suicide after hearing there was strong evidence that Lutterworth teenager Hannah had posted abusive online messages to herself before taking her own life on August 2.
In a highly-publicised case, it had been thought Hannah hanged herself after being subjected to cyber-bullying, and her family began a campaign for tighter legislation and protection.
Deborah lived in Levenmouth and the East Neuk before meeting Hannah’s dad Dave Smith and moving to Leicestershire 14 years ago.
