Police in Glenrothes are urging those living in rural communities to be vigilant after two valuable bikes were stolen from a farm near Leslie over the weekend.

The bikes were taken from Ballingall Farm between 8.00 p.m. on Saturday and 9.00 a.m. on Sunday.

A thief, or thieves, took a black Rock mountain bike and a black Shimano road bike with a carbon fibre frame from an out-building.

Anyone who can assist officers with their ongoing enquiries including information on the whereabouts of the bikes is asked to come forward.

PC Ross Fisher, investigating officer, said: “I would ask anyone who may have seen someone with bikes similar to these ones since Sunday to contact Police Scotland immediately.

“Isolated and rural properties can be particularly vulnerable to the this type of theft and I would also urge people living in these areas to secure their property and to be on the look out for any suspicious people or vehicles.”
