Witness appeal after female passenger dies following accident near Dairsie

Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses following a two-car road collision on the A914 between Dairsie Roundabout and Balmullo on Tuesday, November 24.

The incident involved a collision between a grey Mazda 3 and a white Renault Traffic van.

A female passenger within the northbound vehicle tragically died from her injuries yesterday (Thursday) morning.

The driver of the southbound vehicle sustained minor injuries.

The female passenger has been named as Audrey Thom who was 58-years-old.

Her family have issued the following statement: “Audrey was a much loved wife, mother to three daughters and very recent granny. She will be sadly missed.

“We ask that our privacy is respected while we come to terms with this tragedy.”

Officers are urging anyone who can assist with their inquiries to come forward.

Road Policing Inspector Brenda Sinclair said: “We are still making inquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision.

“We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and saw these vehicles or who witnessed the collision, to contact us on 101.”
