CHILDREN in Anstruther will soon have somewhere more suitable to play, with work due to start on the eagerly awaited redevelopment of Bankie Park.
Bankie Park Development Group (BPDG), which was formed by a small group of enthusiastic parents, has been working hard over the last couple of years to raise funds to make changes to the park, so it is more exciting for children and young people living in Anstruther and the surrounding villages.
With help from Fife Council’s Parks and Countryside service, BPDG developed ambitious plans to create an upgraded play area, new ballcourt and improved seating and planting.
Phase one of that development, including the ballcourt, is due to start this month and should be completed by November.
Funding has been secured through holding local events, from Fife Environment Trust, National Lottery’s Awards for All, Fife Council, Anstruther Common Good Fund and Britvic’s Transform Your Patch campaign.
