A GLENROTHES man met the woman who recently became his wife through a computer game, reports MIKE DELANEY.
Fraser Kelly and Catarina Aldman first hooked-up through their shared love of ‘World Of Warcraft’, the biggest interactive role-playing platform of its kind.
Earlier this month, a journey that had began in front of a screen ended in front of an altar in Sweden.
And last week, the couple began married life in earnest when Catarina moved from her home in the town of Uppsala to join former Auchmuty High pupil Fraser at his home in Pitteuchar.
It has been a long-distance romance for the couple, who have traded visits to their respective countries since they fell for each other.
Catarina, who was studying at university in her home town and is currently looking for a job in her adopted homeland, recalled: “We met online and, after a while, we decided to have a meet in Sweden with a few friends who were also playing the game and it just went on from there.
“That was about two years ago and I have been over here before and really like it.”
Fraser, a lifeguard at Fife Institute, revealed that the simulated world of war had produced another romance, with Alistair De Buriete – who was his best man along with brother Douglas Kelly – currently dating Catarina’s sister Marica.
