A RECORDING studio in Fife is offering ambitious young bands the chance to produce a demo on its premises absolutely free.

The s9fifty studio in Glenrothes has been awarded investment from Creative Scotland to set up ‘The Fife Demo Project 2012’ for bands whose members are aged between 12 and 25, live in Fife and write their own original material.

Ten bands will be selected and once on the project, they will be given free transport to and from the studio, £1000 worth of rehearsal and recording time, 20 professionally produced CDs and the chance to work with a professional design team to create original artwork for their demo.

On completion each demo will be made available worldwide using an online publishing platform.

The project is funded by the Scottish Government’s Cashback for Communities’ scheme through Creative Scotland’s Creative Identities programme and will work in partnership with Fife Council, Adam Smith College, YMCA and Local Youth Hubs across Fife.

For further details and to apply bands should visit www.s9fifty.co.uk/fifedemoproject or telephone 01592 775070 before June 6.
