It has been two years since Glenrothes youngster Briony Allan last went to her local hairdressers for a trim.
But that all changed last week when she put herself ‘up for the chop’ at Thornton salon Leighs DHM ... and all in the name of charity.
I think it’s fantastic what Briony has doneJane Clark, Briony’s grandma
For the 10-year-old had stylist Claire McLure cut off a full 10 inches and all because that meant Briony could then send off her once flowing locks to the Little Princess Charity, the organisation that supports children who have lost their hair through illness.
Briony’s mum Stephanie told the Gazette she was “extremely proud” of her daughter for wanting to help the charity and thinking of the children it supports.
And grandma Jane Clark was similarly proud of her granddaughter’s charity efforts. “I think it’s fantastic what Briony has done,” she told the Gazette.
“The charity does an incredible amount of good work to help those youngsters and I think it’s a wonderful idea to be able to take Briony’s hair and use it to help one of those children, “ she added.
