Fife Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament Nicola Bruley and Amir Aslam visited the Levenmouth Area Committee last week to provide an update on the progress they have made since being elected in March 2013.

Nicola set out her manifesto points - child poverty, curriculum for excellence and the vote for 16-17 year olds, as did Amir who is focussed on more leisure facilities and more employment opportunities for young people. Councillors at the meeting were quick to welcome the pair, with Cllr Hunter commenting that the Scottish Youth Parliament had a very important role to play in society, while Cllr Rodger said he would like to see more younger councillors.
