A KENNOWAY man has swept his way to head up one of Scotland's oldest sports' clubs.
Alistair McCabe, a former pupil at Buckhaven High School, has been appointed president of the 14,000-member Royal Caledonian Curling Club (RCCC).
Alistair started his own curling career in Fife 23 years ago and has now progressed through the ranks to take up the prestigious post of president of the internationally recognised "mother of all curling clubs throughout the world".
Modest about his appointment, Alistair said: "This is a huge honour to be asked to do. To be nominated by your peers, people who think you are good enough, is a wee bit humbling."
The presidential role will require the Kennoway grandfather to carry out a number of trips as an ambassador for the sport and for Scotland.
