KIRKCALDY Rugby Club are hoping for a double celebration this weekend as both men's and ladies' teams battle it out for national silverware.
The two teams take centre stage at cup finals day at Murrayfield with the Blues boys aiming to clinch the National Shield and the Lang Toun ladies going for the National Plate.
The Ladies are first to kick-off on the back pitches against Glasgow University at 1.00 p.m while the first XV go head to head with Garnock on the main pitch at 2.00 p.m.
The men's head coach Quintan Sanft, whose side won 22 out of 30 games this season and narrowly missed out on promotion, spoke to SportsPress ahead of the club's big day.
"It would be awesome if we could both win," he said. "The Ladies haven't done so well this year so they'll be looking to get something out of the season.
"Just missing out on promotion was tough for us, and considering the way we've been playing, the boys deserve something to show for their season. Only us and Melrose have two teams in the finals so it's a big day for the club."
Sanft revealed that his players, more used to the humble surroundings of Beveridge Park, are relishing the prospect of playing at an international arena.
"The guys are really excited," he said. "Only two guys are still here from the last team that went to Murrayfield in 2002.
"There's even talk that this might be the last outing for the cup so this could be a last opportunity for guys to play at Murrayfield and experience what it feels like to play on the big stage."
Sanft is aware that his side's opponents, a team which has just clinched promoted to Premiership Three, cannot be taken lightly.
"We don't know anything about Garnock so we just have to go out and play our own game and try and enjoy the day," he said.
