OVERNIGHT frost put paid to Tayport's hopes of getting back into competitive action last weekend.
News of the frozen Western Park pitch filtered through on Saturday morning, leaving the Tayport players, management, committee and supporters frustrated by a fourth postponement of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup fourth round tie.

'Port have not been in official action since December 5 and there must now be real concern about serious fixture congestion later in the season.

Let's hope that the match against Renfrew can now go ahead, at the fifth attempt, tomorrow (Saturday) when the kick-off is scheduled for the slightly later time of 2 p.m.

All of the players now seem to be fit for duty and Barry McNaughton, who would have been unavailable last weekend, will now be in contention for a place in the line-up.

Supporters requiring up-to-date information should check the club's website, at www.tayportfc.org or 'phone the newsline, on 01382 552755.

The reward for the eventual winners of the tie is a home game, against Newtongrange Star, in the fifth round of the competition.
