  • Glasgow signs on for another year
FIFE Flyers preparations for next season thrust into gear this week with the signing of three key players.
The Kirkcaldy side has re-signed defencemen Chris Wands and Dan McIntyre, while winger Lewis Glasgow has also signed on for another year at Fife Ice Arena.

Flyers player-coach Todd Dutiaume is delighted to have made the first acquisitions of the s
ummer and looked forward to more in the coming weeks.

"These guys were all big players for us last year and we're delighted to have them back," he said. "In the next week, we're hoping to announce more big names."

Wands is set to reclaim his role as the club's assistant captain after a successful first season in the role.

"I approached Chris to be assistant captain last year because I felt with such a young team, we needed the young guys represented in the dressing room," Dutiaume explained.

"Chris is a quiet lad but he does his talking on the ice in leading by example. A few players on the team mentioned to me how important it is to them that Chris keeps his role.

"It shows me that as a coach I made the right decision and how much respect the guys have for Chris."

Fellow defenceman McIntyre emerged as one of the contenders for Flyers' Mirror of Merit award last season.

"Dan came in and didn't know what to expect at Fife," Dutiaume said.
