A 16-MAN Tayport squad travelled to Edinburgh to meet Tynecastle at Fernieside on Saturday.
The East of Scotland League outfit dominated the first half, taking an early lead, and creating numerous openings.

Fortunately, 'Port goalkeeper Neal Ferrie was in top form, making a string of excellent stops to keep his side in contention.

After the break, it was Tayport's turn to boss the match, and new striker Ross Lunan helped himself to a fine hat-trick, as the Canniepairt men ran out 3-1 winners.

With 52 minutes on the clock, Lunan showed great composure to side-step the opposing 'keeper and roll the ball into an empty net.

Five minutes later, Lunan calmly lobbed the ball home, after the 'keeper had left his area to challenge the impressive Robbie Henderson.

On 65 minutes, Lunan completed his treble, expertly turning a right-wing cross into the net, at the front post.

During the half, 'Port hit the crossbar on two occasions, with Steve McManus and Ross Gunnion the unlucky players.

Tayport continue their build-up to the season tomorrow, when an Aberdeen XI will visit the Canniepairt, for a 2.30 p.m. kick-off.

Then, on Wednesday of next week, there is a trip to Beechwood Park, where Lochee Harp provide the opposition for the first of four DJ Laing League Cup sectional ties. Kick-off on Wednesday will be at 6.45 p.m.
