  • Promotion is goal in showdown games
RAITH Rovers are bracing themselves for the all-important play-offs.
The win-or-bust games start at home to Airdrie United on Wednesday night with the first leg of the semi-final at Stark's Park.
Rovers have had the upper hand in league meetings this season, winning three out of four, but the Diamonds clinched second place ahead of the Kirkcaldy men.

With First Division football within touching distance, McGlynn has urged his players to grasp the chance.

"The prize is absolutely massive," he told SportsPress.

"We've had a taste of First Division football in the cups this year and it's far better going to these nicer stadiums where you can play a better quality of football.

"We've got players happier playing at that level against teams who come out to play against them rather than sit back and defend.

"If we go up we'll have big derby games against Dunfermline and what a treat that would be for fans. We know there would be massive crowds and great occasions. The whole place would get a lift and we'd be more than capable of holding our own."

Rovers also clinched a play-off place last season but were comprehensively out-played by Stirling Albion over two legs — an ordeal McGlynn hopes his players learned from.

"We have the experience of handling it last season and hopefully that will help us over the line," McGlynn explained.

"You're only going to get one bite of the cherry so you don't want any regrets that you've not went about your business in the right manner."
